Sesamoiditis
Inflamed or injured sesamoids under the first metatarsal head turn every step into a direct hit. The template floats the complex entirely and spreads its share of load across the lesser rays.
The dancer's pad aperture is cut to the patient's scanned first-met footprint and locked in place by the one-piece flat-based build. This is the single most placement-sensitive accommodation we make.
What you'll see
- Focal pain under the 1st met head, worse barefoot
- Tenderness on direct sesamoid palpation
- Pain with resisted hallux plantarflexion or forced dorsiflexion
- Common in dancers, sprinters and plantarflexed first rays
- Occasional swelling at the plantar 1st MTP

Clinical note
In high-load athletes, rule out a sesamoid stress fracture before settling on a purely accommodative plan.
Every template is a starting prescription, not a constraint. Each parameter stays fully editable in Rx Studio before you send the order.
